Calling Gina Clark was formed in 1999 in Lubeck, Germany by Hendrik, Mirco, Hannes, and Mike on vocals, who left the band two years later. The first show took place in their hometown, together with Massachusetts metalheads The Year Of Our Lord. A 5 song demotape was recorded and got quite good reviews everywhere. HeartattaCk wrote "Calling Gina Clark plays spastic hardcore that falls somewhere between Reversal Of Man and Morser. Fast and chaotic with crushing breaks, off-time phrasing and agonizing vocals" and over 250 copies of this tape were sold all over the world. Somebody invented the description "chaos death jazz powerviolence", which followed the band over the next 4 years and can be found like on every second flyer of shows CGC played... after recording 4 songs for a 7" on Compulsive Blasphemer Records from Oklahoma, Mike left the band and Hendrik took over the vocals. Now a three piece, the band developed its style towards even more technical metal on the one hand and jazzy emo stuff on the other and released a 5 inch record on Crucificados Pelo Sistema in 2002 and a split 7 inch with Dispensing Of False Halos on Init Records/Crucificados in 2003. Three tours with The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra took Calling Gina Clark to Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, England and Scottland. Calling Gina Clark played its last show in late 2004 together with Snacktruck and Akimbo in Magdeburg. A new band, A Fine Boat, That Coffin! features all three members of Calling Gina Clark plus Chris from The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra on second guitar and will have a full length out early in 2005. Read more on Last.fm.
