Buitres Después de la Una, commonly abbreviated as Buitres, is an Uruguayan rock group formed in 1989 after the dissolution of Los Estómagos. With more than 35 years of uninterrupted trajectory, 13 studio albums, 4 live albums and 6 official DVDs, they're considered the greatest Uruguayan rock band.
Formed after Los Estomagos' dissolution, the band originally had three of its members, Gabriel Peluffo as the lead singer, Gustavo Parodi on guitar and Marcelo Lasso on the drums. Jose Rambao joined in as the bass player, he had a short participation in Los Estómagos when its original bass player, Fabián "Hueso" Hernández, was absent because of health problems.
The current line-up consists of:
Gabriel Peluffo - Voice, harmonica (1989 - present)
Gustavo Parodi - Guitar, voice (1989 - present)
José Rambao - Guitar, bass (1989 - present)
Orlando Fernández - Bass (2005 - present)
Federico Bianco - Drums (2018- present)
The band has been characterized for its style of simple rock, inspiring itself in classic rock and roll and melodic punk. They have cited influences from and admiration to artists such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Orbison, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Cure, Loquillo y Los Trogloditas, and from a lyrical standpoint, Charles Bukowski, Pablo Neruda and Idea Vilariño, and others. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Buitres">Read more on Last.fm</a>.
