There were two band with this name:
1. Broken Home was formed in 1979 by Dicken (aka Jeff Pain) and Pete Crowther in Oxford, UK after the split up of Mr. Big (UK) in 1978. Dicken and Pete Crowther had played together in various bands since 1969.
The original lineup consisted of Pete Barnacle, drums, and Rory Wilson, guitar, in addition to Dicken, lead vocals and guitar, and Pete Crowther, bass.
Broken Home made two albums; Broken Home (1980, WEA) and Life (1981, Mercury/Phonogram). Broken Home was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Life by Chris Walsh.
Life was not released in the UK, only in parts of Europe. The album was on VG-lista (Norwegian Top-40 Albums) for 5 weeks in 1982, reaching position 22.
Broken Home split in 1981. Their last gig was the Reading festival in 1980.
They were managed by Tony Smith, the manager of Genesis.
