Brand Nubian is an American hip hop group from New Rochelle, New York, consisting of emcees Grand Puba, Sadat X, and Lord Jamar, and formerly DJs Alamo, Sincere, and Stud Doogie. The group is recognized for its socially conscious and politically charged lyrics, often influenced by the teachings of the Nation of Gods and Earths. Brand Nubian released their debut album, "One for All," in 1990. The album is widely regarded as one of the most important and acclaimed alternative hip hop releases of the 1990s. Known for its Afrocentric themes and thought-provoking commentary, it played a significant role in shaping the sound and message of early 1990s conscious rap.
