Hailing from Birmingham, England, Bossman Birdie is a U.K. grime MC known for his bold, declamatory lyrics and frequent collaborations with heavy weights on the U.K. urban scene.
Moving to London with his family at the age of four, the young creative began to develop a love for music around the age of 15, learning more about the local scene by building friendships with fellow future talents such as JME and Skepta. Inspired by the seminal styles of artists such as 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and N.W.A., Birdie began to spend more time in the studio as he grew up. The turning point would be a guest spot on Mike Skinner's track "Prangin’ Out," alongside Skepta, Tinchy Stryder, and Wretch 32. After starting to pen his own lyrics, along with a number of successful live performances, he eventually embarked on a 2014 tour with grime artist Meridian Dan, and appeared at numerous U.K. festivals and a number of venues around Ibiza. The artists collaborated on Birdie’s first official track, the infectious and fierce "Wristbands" (also featuring Skepta). The track took off, gaining over half-a-million views on YouTube while also earning praise from Kiss FM and Radio 1xtra. 2016 saw further success for the young MC after the release of his track "My Yard" (featuring JME) on Island and EGA Records. Read more on Last.fm.
