Benjamin John Boyce (* August 23, 1968, in Edgware, London) is a British singer living in Germany. Boyce is the son of a pianist and a cellist. After his parents separated, Boyce lived with his mother in the Netherlands. He studied graphic design in Canada. To become an actor, Boyce went to the USA and upon his return to the Netherlands, he got minor roles in TV commercials and films. In 1996, he met the presenter Aleksandra Bechtel through his frequent appearances on the music channel VIVA. He was in a relationship with her until 2001. In 1997, the Englishman moved to Germany. He lived in Cologne between 1997 and 2009. At the end of 2009, he relocated to Amsterdam. In October 2007, Boyce became the father of a daughter. Since 2015, Boyce has been living in Cologne again. Career He started his career in 1992 as a member of the English-Dutch boy band Caught in the Act (CITA). With his bandmates Bastiaan Ragas, Eloy de Jong, and Lee Baxter, he sold more than 20 million records worldwide between 1992 and 1998. After the band dissolved in 1998, he embarked on his solo career. With the single "Change" and the album "Benjamin Boyce," released by Sony Music, he managed to chart in the German charts. Boyce appeared on December 29 and 30, 2000, in two episodes of "Unter uns," in which he played himself and presented his single "Lonely." In 2002, Boyce appeared in the German comedy "Wen küsst die Braut?". After a longer break, Boyce participated in the television show "Comeback – Die große Chance" on ProSieben in 2004, where he came in second place behind Chris Norman, the former singer of the band Smokie. In the same year, he released his single "Where Is Your Love." In the following years, Boyce participated twice in the VOX show "Das perfekte Promi-Dinner." On April 11, 2010, he appeared there, among others, with Oliver Petszokat, Yvonne de Bark, and Kelly Trump. In April 2012, he participated in the talent game show "The Winner Is…". On October 12, 2012, his new single "Whatever You’re Looking For," which he dedicated to his daughter, was released as a download. Benjamin Boyce was a participant in the RTL reality show "Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!" from January 16, 2015, to January 25, 2015, and finished ninth; however, the broadcaster terminated the contract with him prematurely after allegations from his girlfriend that he had hit her after his elimination. Boyce denied the allegations. On September 30, 2016, after several years of hiatus, Boyce's single "I'm Free" was released. For his stage anniversary, in 2017, the single "25 Years" followed. With Michael Morgan, Boyce released the single "Komm Zurück (Want You Back)" in November 2018, which they also presented together on the show "Die Schlager des Jahres 2018" by Florian Silbereisen. Since 2018, Boyce has been in a relationship with the tattoo model and former "Get the F*ck out of my House" contestant Kate Merlan. Boyce and Merlan were seen together in the "Promis im Pauschalurlaub" segment of the taff show in March 2019. They also participated together in the reality show "Das Sommerhaus der Stars" on RTL in the summer of 2019.
