Formed in January 2011, Before the Ruins are a progressive thrash band from the Midlands, England. The project came about when vocalist, Psyniac, came across the solo work of guitarist Jim Cook online and began to experiment with writig lyrics over the pre-exisiting tracks. Impressed, Jim began to write new material for Psyniac to work with, who then went on to employ the help of long-time friend and drummer Jakk Harris.
