The band first started in 2012. Johnny and Ben who were jamming acoustically prior, met up with Johnny's friend Aaron who was in a cover band at the time. After convincing Aaron to join up Becoming Atlas was formed. This was only possible after discovering that Johnny could sing while drumming. many of their first songs seem to span many genres due to diversity of musical taste. In 2013 the band had a setback as Guitarist Aaron checked in to a rehab facility. after checking out, Aaron brought co-worker Mack over to play drums so that Johnny could experiment with different vocal techniques and to give the band more options musically. But after awhile the band ultimately decided to say goodbye to Mack and keep johnny as the drummer and singer in hopes to catch the audiences attention. the band participated in the Addicts Recovery Talent Show in 2013 and won 1st place. We were invited to play (but not participate) in 2014 at Century 2. the band recorded their own album in 2014 with Smoke House Productions. Production of the album has been stalled due to Album Artwork disagreement.
