Bane Overlord were the square peg in the round hole of the early noughties Manchester music landscape. Influences ranged from metal to disco, from thrash to underground punk and from pop to funk. Bane Overlord were the square peg in the round hole of the early noughties Manchester music landscape. Influences ranged from metal to disco, from thrash to underground punk and from pop to funk. Either loved or loathed the band became something of a cult to a very small group of people. Connected to the Chips with Everything club night the band scorched their way through a small amount of live appearances with the first gig being in the City's legendary Roadhouse venue with their final show being at The Deaf Institute in Sheffield. The band recorded two, as yet unreleased tracks, with Martin Moscrop of seminal Manchester group ACR. The recording of Climbing Up The Walls on Last FM was recorded at The Green Room, a rehearsal space in Stockport, on a 4 track tape recorder.
