The brainchild of former Dickbasket lead singer Matthew M. and a guy he met in highschool (Tom R.), Bad Mental Imagery was formed in late 2004 with a voice, a guitar, and minimal (although commendable) talent. With such hit Christian anthems like "Atom Bomb (booty-sex your mom)" and irresistabley riffy "Packing-parts one through three," the band immeadiatly gained a cult following around the four-corners area. Their first LP, "Auditory Rape," sold a record breaking 11 copies, garnering 10 Grammy nominations. Their follow-up attempt, "Anal Goblin," was the bands first true breakthrough, winning the Battle of the Bands Competition at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. With the success of the 20 track CD, the band played many private shows and two open mic nights, further spreading the word. One year later, the band has regrouped, and now has enough material for an additional two albums, "Bloody Show" and "At Least It's Better Than AIDS." With these new additions, the band has incorporated novel concepts such as "solos" and "songs that are longer than 45 seconds." Both members continue to record while attending college, and trying their hands at some serious music.
