Austin Newcomers are a French-Canadian indie rock band headed by Jan and Ilia Cobb. Canadian brothers installed in France, Jan and Ilia Cobb digested their US folk-rock and electro french touch influences to approach a new era. Their current sound has more in common with indie-rock bands such as The Strokes and The Libertines. Proud of its ecstatic guitars, of its consistent bass, its controlled harmonies, its percussive drums, this new gang of five lets forecast the best things to come. Founded in 2000, the band includes Jan Cobb, Ilia Cobb, Boris Magnin, Christian "Lemmy" and Cédric "Bitchon" Desmazières. They have released two full-length albums and two EPs.
