Artificial Kid is the name of an experimental 'cyberpunk' rap project born from the minds of StabbyoBoy, Danno (Colle der Fomento) and DJ Craim. The project was born in the second half of 2008 and materialized in 2009 with the imminent release of 'Artificial Kid - Number 47', a nine-track concept album taken as the group's manifesto: on electronic and claustrophibic hip hop sounds created by the sampler and from the synthesizers of StabbyoBoy and from the scratches of DJ Craim, the texts of Danno tell in nine short episodes the vision of a near future to the Blade Runner, characterized by an invasive presence of technology and the media as a means of controlling the population, in where a prototype of a new cyborg (artificial kid number 47, in fact) fights his personal war against the system that created him. Supported by an original and elucidating graphic design by cartoonist Champa, the Artifical Kid project summarizes in thirty minutes the passion of its three members for cyber science fiction of the last twenty years, with strong literary references to Gibson, Sterling, Dick, Orwell, and musical influences such as Carpenter, Vangelis, Company Flow, Non Phixion. Read more on Last.fm.
