Ansis (born Ansis Kolmanis, May 8, 1987) is a multi-award-winning Latvian hip-hop artist, producer, and sound engineer. Growing up in the decaying post-Soviet resort town of Ķemeri, Jūrmala, Latvia, he developed a distinct artistic perspective influenced by the crumbling architecture and quiet surroundings of his youth. He was raised in a creative family; his mother, Ieva Kolmane, is a translator and literary critic, while his father is a jeweler. His career began in the early 2000s within collectives such as PKI, Kreisais Krasts, and Riekstu Armija. Over two decades, he evolved from a self-described "Sunday rapper" and sound engineer into a central figure of the Latvian music industry. He is also one half of the production duo Netīrās Cilpas (Dirty Loops) alongside his brother, Kārlis Kolmanis (181h). He has received multiple Zelta Mikrofons (Golden Microphone) awards for Best Hip-Hop Album for Balzams (2017), Liela māksla (2020), and the Netīrās Cilpas collaborative project Melnezera grāmata (2023).
