Anna Caterina Antonacci is now acknowleged as a major artist and her extraordinary vocal timbre and great acting skills have enabled her to perform a vast and varied repertoire in the world’s most important theatres.
She has recently concentrated on the great sopano roles including Gluck's 'Alceste' and 'Armide' and Mozart's Donna Elvira, Elettra and Vitellia. She had a great success with the title role in 'Medea' in Toulouse and at the Chatelet where she also sang Cassandre with Sir John Eliot Gardiner to universal acclaim.
She has sung in opera and concert with the world's leading conductors including Abbado, Andrew Davis, Christie, Mackerras and Muti. She has a highly successful concert and recital career and has sung Berlioz Les Nuits d'Ete with Sir Colin Davis to name but one project. She records for the Naive label and her first solo recording "Era la notte" has just been released receiving excellent reviews. Read more on Last.fm.
