Anavie (an-uh-vi) was a post-hardcore/alternative rock band from Lafayette, Louisiana, United States.
Bio from their Myspace in 2009:
Forming in late 2007, Anavie was established when several bands parted ways in Southern Louisiana. Three bands separations caused the now members of Anavie to look hard at their past accomplishments and decide whether they wanted to continue to pursue music. Frontman Matt Thomas and lead guitarist Ty Shaw were on the verge of moving to California to find a new musical direction when rhythm guitarist Josh Peltier and drummer Scott Badon approached the two with a new project. Max Wardroup, tired of the Baton Rouge music scene, moved back to Lafayette to start fresh in a new band. Due to personal reasons Max was forced to quit the band and he was replaced by a close friend and merch guy of the band, Kyle Suire.
As of November 2007 Anavie has hit the ground running, playing with passion and intensity that is the driving force behind their live show. Honest and thoughtful lyrics mixed with pop, indie, and hardcore influences blend together to form a truly unique sound. After recording their five song EP Chasing Clouds the band is now prepared to tour nation-wide in order to get their message and music out. The band continues to search for sympathetic ears the world over, who embrace living out their dreams and overcoming the hardships in life.
“All, all our lives, we played it safe, cause chasing dreams will often fade away. We never spoke our minds out loud. So here we are still with our head in the clouds…”
