Vladimir Grankin, born in Riga in Latvia, is better known under his aka Alongshore or Type. He started his musical career at a very young age by taking piano lessons where he discovered his passion and his talent for music as the most high expressions of his art and himself. Vladimir studied all types of musical genres but he found his true passion in dance music. As a musician, he spent the last 3 years in his studio for developing his technique and designing his sounds. Over the years he developed a specific taste for Trance music. Influenced by artists such as Armin van Buuren, DJ Shah, Chicane, Above & Beyond, Moonforce, Arksun and many others he started to create his own style. Tender sound vibrations and silky melodic textures melting with heavenly spherical moods are the basics of his style. His balearic style is often referred to as "The Sound of Ibiza". After an unbelievable large amount of positive feedback of his performance by artists, friends and the crowd, the time was right to get his tracks released. After sending some demo’s his talent was noticed by Real Legacy Records which offered Vladimir his first record deal. Vladimir is lucky to get support from such DJ’s as Armin Van Buuren (ASOT), Above & Beyond (TATW) and DJ Shah (Music For Balearic People).
