Alberto Marino (born April 26, 1920 Verona, Italy - died June 21, 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a tango singer.
As a child, he moved with his family from Italy to the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. His debut as a singer was in 1935 on Radio Mitre. He sang with several bands until in 1942 Anibal Troilo incorporated him into his ensemble.
In 1946 he left Troilo's orchestra and began his career as a soloist with orchestra and Hector Enrique Alessio Artola. In the 1950s he featured with the guitar ensemble of Roberto Grela, recording for the Odeon label. Marino and Grela would meet again in late 1959, recording several new LPs.
Towards the end of the 1950s he made tours of Latin America and the United States. In the 1960s and 1970s, he performed in the orchestras of Miguel Calo and Armando Pontier, making several records with them.
In his later years he appeared in a popular TV show, Grandes Valores del Tango, broadcast on Channel 9. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
