98 Degrees is a Grammy-Nominated American male vocal group consisting of four vocalists: brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons. They are not considered a boy band because they were not created by a record producer, but instead joined together themselves. The group was formed in Los Angeles, but its members are all from Ohio. Unlike most vocal groups, they formed independently and were later picked up by a record label, as opposed to being assembled by a label or a producer (e.g. The Backstreet Boys ).
