Born on August 10, 1980 in the Soviet Union, Игорь Вячеславович Растеряев (Igor Rasteryaev) became a theater and movie actor. His music carreer started by chance in late 2010, when a video on Youtube made several hundred-thousand clicks, showing him perform a song while playing garmon in the woods, allegedly recorded with a mobile phone.
After a few more successful song-releases on youtube (all home-made), the decission was made to record an album. This first album "Русская дорога" ("Russkaja doroga" - russian road) was released in Ferbuary 2011 and is kept very puristic, continuing the style of his youtube videos. The songs on it are performed solely by him: singing and playing the garmon. Between the songs he tells several anecdotes about the life in rural russia.
Igor Rasteryaev is depicted as a person to whom the listeners are first concern and not the money made with his popularity, a person who prefers to play a free concert over a big pathos-festival. The move that the whole album "Russkaja doroga" is available for free download on his site does support this image of him. Read more on Last.fm.
