WILLIAM SOUFFREAU was born in Erembodegem ,under a Belgian moon ,on the 14th of April 1946.
He plays music for more than 5 decades now and jumped onto the music scene in the early 60's with a few friends from school. His first band was called THE BLUE JETS. In that period William wrote his first songs like " Feel so Lonely" ,that can now be heard on the album 'Shake It' (2002)
In 1970 he formed with some friends THE VOODOO. Later on The Voodoo changed their name into Irish Coffee (Search more information about and music of this band on Last.fm's Irish Coffee page). With Irish Coffee william recorded in the early 70's 1 album and 4 singles, all collector's items now.
In 1970 William was voted Belgium's nr 1 Rocksinger. The band played many concerts, and did numerous TV and Radioshows. They were also support-act for groups like Uriah Heep, Chicken Shack ,Golden Earring, and many more. Between 2002 and 2005 William reformed Irish Coffee which resulted in 1 new album and in a live appearance on the famous German rock program Rockpalast. From this concert there is a CD/LP/DVD available.
In 1974, the Irish Coffee story came to an end. William then started JOYSTICK, a band with a fine horn section and great musicians like Tony Boast+ . A few of the Joystick songs have been recorded later for the Irish Coffee reunion album from 2004. Joystick also was support-act for Motorhead! In the 80's William did a lot of performances with his coverband OH BOY!. They had a great live reputation and a very underground playlist !
In 1990 he went solo as a singer-songwriter and released till now already 7 albums (see discography), with great musicians like Dave Peabody, Michael Chapman ,Philip Catherine ,Jo Bogaert ,Jan De Wilde etc.., and did supportacts for The Kinks & 10cc!
At the end of the 90's he picked up his rock'n'roll years and started the rockabillyband BLINK IT. This band released 2 swinging albums that were critically acclaimed but never had any commercial success.
He also played in a rock'n'roll-band, THE COCHRANS, together with Rik Vermeir and Kris Vandercammen. They played mostly songs from Eddie Cochran ,but also from other great fifties heroes and early sixties bands.
With Kloot Per W, William formed Old School. They play covers of the finest songs from over 50 years of rock history. William is also active in the rock 'n' roll band The Rockabilly Rhythm Review.
His latest album dates from 2008 and was recorded together with The Moonlovers.
And" hopefully" there's is more to come....................................................................>>>>>>>
