Wakuénai (Curripaco) is not a band or individual artist, but an indigenous ethnic group living in the lower Amazon region where the countries Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil meet. In the early 1980s anthropologist Jonathan Hill spent some time with some of them and brought recording equipment.
