Biography
The Poopy Butts were formed in May 2005 by 3 dudes who wanted to just play fast loud music about things they loved and knew dearly - fruit snacks, video games, skateboarding, poop, zombies, etc. The music is heavily influenced by bands such as Spazz, Charles Bronson, Crossed Out, Man is the Bastard, etc. Hailing from Western Massachusetts the group featured members/ex-members of such groups as Face Off, The Blackbelt Club, Disrupted and Pile of Shit. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/The+Poopy+...Read more on Last.fm

The founding 3 members would also later on play in the band Lumberjack as well. Matt Pacheco AKA Chico on vocals, Kevin on guitar, Matt Marek AKA Thrasher Matt on drums. We knew we needed a bassist but couldn't find one at the time and just focused on writing songs. Some of our first songs included "Tim Has White Poops", "Zombies, Skating and Food" and "ASP". We played our first show in Connor Kelley's backyard in Agawam, MA on 8-12-05 with The McFeelys, Motorflag, Blackbelt Club and more. Soon after we got Emil Nasti to play bass for us. After about a year we had what we considered an albums worth of songs written. We recorded in Kevin Gebo's studio in Holyoke, MA in August 2006. The cd was 24 songs in just about 13 minutes called "Songs to Clog Your Toilet To". This spawned many more classic songs such as "Resident Evil 4", "Addicted to Fruit Snacks", and live favorites "Poop Shower" and "Revenge of Poop Shower". After the CD was out we started playing more shows in the area.
The Butts went back into the studio in 2007 to record their 2nd album, "10,000 Wipes". This album was recorded at Dead Air Studios in Amherst, MA with the legendary Will Killingsworth. This album had 21 tracks including a re-recorded version of "Hampton Beach". It sounded much more polished than the previous album while still maintaining the same ol poopiness. This album brought much more attention to the band, with many new classics such as "Muscles & Morals", "Poop", and "Skateboards & Gore". We played many shows around Western MA and Connecticut in late 2007/early 2008. Due to many things, our last show (as of now) was played in July 2008 in Springfield, MA. We may play live again someday.Emil continues to play in the band Yak Snot and also contributes to noise project Smorgasboard.
