The Little Women Band is: Olivia Arciero, 21, Dominique Arciero, 19, Jillian Arciero, 18, and Gabriela Arciero, 15. Born in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania the girls grew up listening to country music, which was influenced by their parents who recognized the girls' love for music early on. The group was formed in the fall of 1999. A 10-year-old Jillian had been taking guitar lessons for a few years when she started to write her own songs. When her guitar teacher, offered to record Jillian's songs in his garage studio, the other girls eagerly joined in with background harmonies. All of the girls, however, had been singing and acting since they were very young. Olivia's influence on the other three girls sparked a love for performing before they reached grade school. They soon discovered how much they enjoyed singing together and began experimenting with four-part harmony, making up and singing harmony parts to songs on the radio. Olivia expressed herself more through songwriting and Dominique began writing music on the piano. Gabby, at the age of 9, started playing an old set of drums their mom bought at an auction, and soon fell in love with it. Wherever they went they'd get up and sing a capella, whether it be at a party or a local open mike. In the winter of 1999 the band met Marty Strayer, a musician and sound engineer with whom they co-wrote their first (as they put it) "REAL" CD. This was just the beginning of many more collaborations with producers and recording engineers who, year after year, have immediately been drawn to something great in these four sisters. "Healing the world one song at a time" is the motto The Little Women Band has adopted and is the reason they want each of their songs to have a purpose. Their main goal is to touch peoples' lives with the messages in their music, and to have fun while doing it. "We never cease to have fun when we sing, write, record, or perform together. We're sisters, and since it comes naturally for us to have this band we can't help but have fun. There's no doubt in our minds that this is what we want to do, and because of that, we're blessed to get so many privileges and opportunities to play for so many audiences and get such a positive response from them." says Dominique. Since 2000, The Little Women Band has been performing in coffee houses, open mikes, schools, and for weddings, fairs and other events. Currently, they've had the privelege of playing at the legendary New York City venues like Bitter End, CBGB's Gallery, Piano's and Joe's Pub. They continue to write their own music and record new material. These 4 girls are persistent in their pursuit of a long career in music. They're not just a band, but a group of sisters who want to make a difference. They are exactly where they want to be..."Healing the world one song at a time." Read more on Last.fm.
