The Intruder is a genre-bending comedic take on the modern grindcore and death metal scene, often refusing to indulge in extended breakdowns or soloing. Many of their songs clock in at less than 2 minutes, rewarding multiple listens with their frantic and offbeat "math-metal" compositions, jazz interludes and a consistently off-the-wall lyrical style. Formed in 2002, The Intruder is a four-man group based in Westerly, RI, consisting of vocalist Mike Bucchino, guitarist Mike Manuel, bassist Josh Taber and drummer Matt Pasetti. An overly self-critical songwriting and recording style marred the release of both fully completed studio EP's and led to an inevitable breakup in early 2007.
