I carry the music, the art, the dance, the people, the culture with me always...” - Irene SOME HISTORY: In late 2006, Irene was introduced to Scott Slagle by a fellow musician. In the very short period of time since (through constant work & writing), they have developed a fantastic working relationship continuing in the rich musical tradition the area (everything from Nina Simone to John Coltrane to George Clinton). Recklessly combining elements of sound from dub to rock, they have created an exciting sound that successfully blends genres & has helped to gain fans around the world. Their first promotional release, “Windows”, secured the group a publishing deal with In The Groove (of Minneapolis) and was downloaded by DJ’s & fans over 175,000 times. From an early age, Irene has expressed herself through music. Growing up as a “military brat”, Irene has been all over the world in pursuit of new sounds. From New Zealand w/Steve Ross & Tony Battle (Freedom) to Los Angeles w/Justin Smith (Soma323), working on film scores & then back to Charlotte, North Carolina as Sweet Irene. Irene feels that she has finally found the perfect musical companion to her vocals. Scott is the owner of Asylum Digital Recording Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina. Asylum Digital opened its doors in 1998 and since the early 90’s, Scott has worked on records for both indie and major label clients. Scott is part of The Collection Agency (a production team that consists of Stephen Barrett, Chris Holston & Jason Michel) and is a voting member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES). RECORDING: We have just completed our new album “Dust & the War On Sound”. "Dust & the War On Sound" will be released digitally & on vinyl thru The Collection Agency Music imprint.
