In 1972, The Time People was the most successful BBC television series ever created. Every Saturday night, families would gather around their television sets to discover what adventures awaited them. Few, however, gave the show's revolutionary incidental music the attention it deserved. And it seemed that attention would never come when what were thought to be the last remaining copies of the soundtracks were lost in a house fire in 1975. However, in 1988 a copy of the tapes was discovered, remastered, and released, for this recording. So here they are, newly restored and cut with genuine dialogue from the series. This is The Time People. Sunshine Coding aka James Lightfoot has been making folktronica and pagan-influenced rave music since the late 90's from his base in rural Cheshire. "The Old Way" is a little bucolic coda to the set taken from their debut release ‘The Time People’, an imagined soundtrack for a mythical 1970s children’s TV show. It appears on "John Barleycorn Reborn" part 3 (free download when the 2CD was purchased). Read more on Last.fm.
