Sophiris is: Leo - L. Vocals/Guitar Phil - Bass/B. Vocals Wou - Drums Sophiris is a brazilian band formed in august of 2005 in Rio de Janeiro by Leo (lead vocals/guitar) and Wou (drums). After two months, the first bassist (Jorge Gabriel) decided to leave the band due to lack of time, starting a long period of a "non-permanent bassists" in the band. In 2006 a big change in the sound direction happened and most of the first EP was composed. However, during the whole second half of the year the band was forced into hiatus due to lack of time caused by college graduations (and shit like that..) The band returns on February of 2007 with Bruno Vargas as a temporary bassist and follows the year finishing the pre-production and recording the EP. After a gig on October of 2007, Philip Moraes becomes a great friend of the band and really gets interested in (16) the sound. The band doesn't wait too long to invite him to play in the rehearsals as the new permanent bassist. Despite many delays and problems, on April 26th, 2008, Sophiris releases their first EP "The quite effective ways to start reaching", which is also available online for download (available here: www.sophiris.com, it´s free dude!).
