There are two bands called soda.
1. soda. (electro / Switzerland)
2. soda. (punk / San Jose, CA)
1. It was back in 2002 when Pascal Glatz and Manuel Loepfe started their music project „soda.“. They started producing Hip-Hop Beats for local rappers. The influence of electronic music turned their productions more and more into Trip-Hop-Instrumentals. After years of sound processing the two friends found their love in manipulating and tweaking synthesizers to straight and hard electronic beats. In 2009 the swiss radio station DRS3 has chosen „soda.“ as artist of the week and their song „on my mind“ was on-air nationwide. A big thing - so it was time to start producing the album „can“ wich was released in spring 2011. The electro duo earned a lot of positive reactions and critics by papers and magazines. And just one year later soda. released two EP’s called „Escaping the Transience“ and „Road to Eternity“. Temporarily both albums were placed in the top ten of the swiss iTunes store (genre: electronic). They love what they do, and thats what you hear in their music. They love to perform live and see people dancing to their music. – sodalectric!
2. Soda. was a San Jose, CA based punk band. The first EP that the band released, Pencil Fight, featured World Champion skateboarder Steve Caballero on Guitar. The band also featured Meegan Goad (Lair) on vocals, Matt Ramirez on bass, Todd Jackson on drums, and Jim Leonard on guitar. Caballero was later replaced by Paul Wotel on guitar.
Following Soda., Ramirez, Wotel, Jackson and Leonard went on to form San Jose punk group Outtaline and later on the band went on to be Cova without Ramirez. Read more on Last.fm.
