Slade van Winden is a first generation Dutch-American rapper and painter. He is also known as a member hip hop group FUNNELBUDZ. van Winden is credited for his bleak, highly cryptic lyrics and aggressive rapping style. van Winden had studied visual art at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD prior to his music career. After dropping out, he started an avant-garde project with his brother. van Winden performed under the alias SAE and performed a handful of shows with his brother MVW. During this time, van Winden worked at a pizza restaurant in Salisbury and pursued a career as a painter.
