Shinichi Sakamoto (坂本 伸市) is a professional videogame musician, who has worked at West One, a Japanese game developer, since the 1980s. He is perhaps best known for his work on the Wonder Boy / Monster World series of games for various systems. He was born in Chiba, Japan on 7 Jan 1966. He married in June 2002. He left high school early to start work; he started in videogame music around 1982, when he started at Tecmo, working on sound driver software for arcade machines. His hobbies are cooking, keeping pet fish and driving his convertible. Musically, he can play guitar, bass and keyboards.
