Chicago solo artist turned rock n roll trio.
Michael Scabs, former frontman of Black Cuntry Rock, was born in Libertyville IL.
The Sheriff Scabs sound is a form of punk metal, crafted with influences of gothic and industrial rock, as well as a hint of indie garage, old country and satire. The lyrical content is very dark, but brought about in an almost comedic presentation. His live performances are very aggressive and always entertaining. A true showman in every sense. Best described as a cross between Nick Cave, Rob Zombie, and Frank Black of Pixies.
All the previous members of Sheriff Scabs' live band were in an industrial metal band called Fashion Bomb. SS is a friendlier band, take things less serious, and have a lot more fun than they did previously. Bambi and Mode left the group in 2011, leaving Scabs as the sole guitarist and Dreg on drums. Ivan Russia, if Ahab Rex and Mr Russia (formerly of Black Cuntry Rock, as well) joined the group on bass, while Griff Baron played lead guitar on an interim basis.
Sheriff Scabs plays many live shows throughout the year and releases recorded material on a fairly frequent basis. The three members also have a weekly music based comedy podcast called "We're With The Band." Read more on Last.fm.
