Radiola Santa Rosa is a musical group formed in 2004 in Guarujá (Brasil), by rapper and musician Caio “Dubfones” and turntable pilot DJ Beto. Radiola Santa Rosa is a musical group formed in 2004 in Guarujá (Brasil), by rapper and musician Caio “Dubfones” and turntable pilot DJ Beto. Fruit of the sound experiments that the duo has worked on since 2000. Producing beats, creating instrumentals, writing rhymes that could speak for the spirit of the group. That could convey a positive message to everyone, that spoke of a consciousness expansion and how it combats this abusive destruction of nature and animals and how it can make us steadier and stronger as human beings.
Detailing the influences on Radiola, is a well nigh impossible mission, the frantic search and the voracious consumption of information make the hip hop of the group extremely anthropofagic. Beastie Boys, Lee Perry, Mutantes, Beck, Jurassic 5, The Avalanches, Hip Hop old school, Reggae, Jamaican Dub, Brazilian music, Tropicalia, lo-fi music, electronic music, Serge Gainsbourg, Beat generation, concrete poets, cinema novo, Jazz, Funk and Folk, are only some of the many ingredients that the group puts in their cauldron – in their case, turntables – to make their principal dish - Disqueria.
