Born in Scotland, Sharifa always loved to sing and recite poetry. At primary school she joined the school choir. At secondary school, she and and two other girls formed a singing group with two brothers, Lawrence and Chris Lecky (Scratchy Fingers) who played drum and bass. Having written poetry until then, Princess Sharifa began writing songs. In 1985 she joined Jah Foundation band and her career was on the way. Sharifa has recorded with Ariwa Studio and is presently recording for Twinkle Studio.
