1) One Small Step is Jessica Bartley (keyboards and vocals) and Zach Willenbrink (guitar, vocals and programming). They formed in Louisville, KY where both grew up. Bartley and Willenbrink met as fourth-graders at St. Leonard Elementary School. They stayed friends throughout and after each finished high school (at different schools), the two started writing music together. They began recording almost immediately in 2004. Bartley had played piano for years and through experimentation and a few formal lessons, Willenbrink had figured out the guitar. Willenbrink's computer provided the drum loops and samples. After the duo took a break to begin college they joined back again in the summer of 2005, and another six or so songs were written and added to the previous batch. The resulting record, "You Can Say a Thousand Words … /Wake Up, Springtime!" is a full album in length. The band's light melodies and candy shop arrangements make for some seriously delicate twee pop. Songs like "Living Here with You" and "Ben and Megan's Song" remain catchy and focused in their airy lightness. 2) One Small Step is a pop indie-rock 3 piece from Japan - Members are Ozawa Shou (Drums), Matsu Kumi (Vocal, Bass) and Ozawa Yuki (Guitar, Chorus, Keyboards). http://onesmallstep.jp 3) Norwegian improv trio One Small Step, with tap dancer Janne Eraker (Rhythm is a Dancer, Øy), fiddle player Vegar Vårdal (Breibeint, Rusk) and Clean Feed bass player Roger Arntzen (Chrome Hill, Ballrogg). They started out as a tap / double bass duo when Janne was based in Rotterdam back in 2011, and Roger provided the harmonic base of the duo.
