Nobis formed in August of 2000 under the name Melee, but changed its name around 2004 to Nobis . All original heavy metal with a great blend of melody. They helped put metal back on the map in maine, paving the way for many bands heard in the state today. Nobis exploded from out of nowhere and won the Portland Pheonix best metal band in 2005. The band released several EP's & In 2005 released its debut Full Length album, 'A Blurred Sense of Divine' features a pummeling onslaught of some of the heaviest music to come out of the state of Maine. The album was produced by Grammy Nominated Producer Josh Wilbur(Lamb of God,Atreyu) The band went on hiatus for a few years in the late 2000's, but returned to live shows in 2010. In July of 2012 the band released its new album 'Confession' this time with Crytopsy guitarist Christian Donaldson at the helm for all of the instruments and Josh Wilbur handling the Vocal tracking. 2012 has also seen the band re-unite with Xact Records.
