Moonlight Desires might only play 80s cover songs, but you’d be wrong to dismiss them as just another cover band. By re-working synth-laden pop hits of the 1980s, these familiar guilty pleasures transform into modern, guitar-driven rock anthems. Formed by Hamilton, Ontario musician Trevor Ziebarth (Actor/Writer/Composer on Teletoon’s adult comedy series Sons Of Butcher), Moonlight Desires is his ode to the raunchy romances and youthful misadventures of summers past. ‘Sons Of Butcher’ aired on Teletoon in Canada and syndicated to MTV in over 200 countries during the mid-aughts. As a companion to the show, the Sons Of Butcher band released music and toured Canada twice, where their heavied-up live covers quickly became fan-favourites. To not detract from the show, the covers were spun off into their own project called Moonlight Desires (after the 80s song by iconic Canadian superstar Gowan). Joined in the studio by drummer Dave Dunham ( Not Of, ex-Chore, ex-Sons Of Butcher), lead guitarist Marco Bressette (Dead Tired, ex-Threat Signal), and a revolving cast of regulars, Moonlight Desires is a skilled unit of talented musicians having fun with the anthems of their salad days. The New EP, 'At The Movies' (Released July 17, 2020) is an adoring hard rock send up of the greatest pop movie themes the decade could offer, including The Karate Kid Part II, Dirty Dancing, The Goonies, and The Breakfast Club.
