Monochromatic Black are an American Metal band from Long Island, New York. Formed in January 2018.
Their first Music video & single "The Herd" was released in May 2018 followed by their second single "Phosphenes" in March 2019.
Their debut EP "Pneuma" was released on 5/3/19 independently & a short documentary on the making of was released detailing the recording process of the album & an insight into the writing process. Since Pneuma's release, Monochromatic Black has been extensively touring the United States and continued to do so throughout 2019 & early 2020.
After receiving critical acclaim, the band focused on writing 10 new tracks for what would become their debut full-length album “Vicissitude”. The album was completed and released November 26 of 2021.
The band have since released 2 new EP offerings with "Predacious" released on June 30, 2024, and the follow up "Vehemence" (Stylized as VEHEMENCE) on July 10, 2025.
Predacious would mark former long-serving guitarist and composer John Gribbin's last effort before stepping away from the band, with new recruit Pierce Akers joining the fold as his replacement. Gribbin also contributed to the Vehemence single "Specter".
