Formed in 1991 by Vignir, Bjarki and Þrostur, Mind in Motion is the collaboration of three childhood friends who were fascinated with the emerging rave scene and the change that was happening in music at that time. With dance music relatively unknown on local radio stations they soon got noticed on the rave scene for playing a variety of styles incorporating samples with aggressive drums and synths. After being very active and playing a lot of different venues in Iceland until 1993 the band parted ways.
