1) Mellonta Tauta is a dream pop / shoegaze band founded in 1988 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, consisting of Leticia Solari and Daniel Lopez Quiroga. Their sound is often compared to groups like Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine and Galaxie 500. They released their music through the extinct German label Hyperium.
Mellonta Taunta have been active mainly in the 1990s, releasing one full-length album titled "Sun Fell" (1994), two singles, "Ocean" (1994) and "Fishes" (1995), and appearing on several compilations.
In 2010 the members reunited and recorded a new album, "Rainbow Melodies", released in 2013.
2) Mellonta Tauta is a progressive rock band from Padua, Italy, founded in 1978. They released "Mellonta Tauta" in 1993, "90.00" (containing originals songs recorded in ten years, 1990-2000) and Night of the Falling Stars (containing seven covers that they had played in concerts and afterwards recorded using a "live in studio" technique. In 1981 some members of Mellonta Tauta formed Duke, a Genesis cover band.
3) Mellonta Tauta is a death metal band from Exeter, UK. They began in October 2007 with the release of the demo "2007 Maniacs". A follow-up demo was conceived and attempted in 2008 but never released. Mellonta Tauta was put on hold until October 2012.
