English Biography Mehdi Yarrahi (Persian: مهدی یراحی) is an Iranian pop singer, composer, and musician born on November 14, 1981, in Ahvaz. He is recognized for his emotive vocal style and for being one of the few mainstream artists to consistently celebrate his Arab-Iranian heritage by incorporating the Ahvazi-Arabic dialect into his music. Early Life Yarrahi’s musical journey began between the ages of 10 and 13 through Quranic recitation contests, where he developed an ear for the internal rhythm of verses. He later studied music theory under Ali Kasraee. Although he is a skilled pianist and guitarist, he is largely self-taught. Career and Breakthrough After moving to Tehran in 2000, Yarrahi faced a decade of challenges, with three early albums failing to receive government clearance. He finally gained national prominence with his official debut, "Mano Raha Kon" (2011). He became a household name through his theme songs for the popular TV show "Mah-e Asal."
