Martin Bottcher is a film-score composer from Berlin, Germany born in 1927. He began his musical career as a jazz guitarist playing for post-WWII big bands in Hamburg, and found great success composing scores for German crime films, most notably by the director Karl May. In fact the music of the Karl May films is considered a landmark in German film history and is well known to most Germans for its appearance on radio hit parades.
