„Airy, graceful, intriguing…” - Thomas Conrad (“Jazz Times”)
“Quite dark and Nordic in feel, this music set the hairs on the back of your neck tingling…” - Tim Dickeson (In his blog - Jazzontour)
"High emotional charge and luxurious beauty have been submerged into flat- landed Pannonian Valley, indirectly displaying that in her concept of jazz Maja is on the right track successfully following the tradition of the world piano giants Bill Evans, Lennie Tristano and Bernard Pffeifer, and from domestic keyboard players of recently gone Miloš Petrović, especially his early jazz phase..." - Slobodan - Bobby - Arandjelović (Belgrade Jazz Publicist)
The Majamisty TriO’s music synthesizes classical and jazz elements, and judging by audience reaction it’s a refreshing addition to the jazz music scene.
The cooperation of pianist Maja Alvanović (Novi Sad), leader of the trio, with the fantastic musicianship of Ištvan Čik (drums and percussion), Ervin Malina, (double bass) and Aleksandra Drobac Čik (guest vocalist) gives wings to this idea and brings it to full fruition.
Their first album ‘Mistyland’ (2011. SKC) with twelve tracks (eleven originals and the cover of jazz standard ‘Misty’ by Errol Garner) invites lovers of new jazz sound in the walk through the wideness of Mistyland, imaginary world of acoustic paintings.
