KÜENRING formed in December 2010 by the remaining members of forerunner band MADHOUSE (Stefan & Florian Gutenthaler, Michael Sulzbachner) plus new drummer Georg Markhart.
On November 18, 2011, KÜENRING released their first demo album called "Death Awaits", followed by several gigs in 2011/12.
In September 2012 the band parted ways with their drummer, but already started working on their next demo ep the following winter while searching for a new man for the drum kit. In February 2013, the band was completed again with the help of drummer Gerald Pregartner. The first gig with Pregartner was on August 30th, 2013 at "Metal Outbreak", Brunn am Walde, Lower Austria. On October 18th the same year, Küenring released the EP "The Nameless Fallen". During the following months they played gigs in Lower- and Upper Austria.
Gerald Pregartner left the band in 2015. He was replaced by Sebastian Sauer, who played his first gig with the band on November 25th, 2015 at the "Austrian Fish Fest Alliance" at DasBach, Vienna.
Throughout 2016 the band played several gigs in Vienna and Burgenland. Also in 2016, KÜENRING entered the studio to record their first full-length album. While working on the album, the band played gigs in Linz and Vienna.
KÜENRING's self-titled debut was finally released on December 27th, 2017. The band played a gig at Arena Vienna the following day. The official release party took place at Kapu Linz on March 24th, 2018. Gigs in Tyrol, Upper Austria and Vienna followed. On July 6th the same year, the album was re-released over german label-service CMM/SAOL. The re-release was accompanied by the YouTube-publication of a lyric video for "The Unknown", a song from the album. During the following months, the band played shows in Austria and Slovakia, including support gigs of DIAMOND HEAD and CAULDRON.
In 2019 KÜENRING did shows all over Austria and had their first bigger festival appearance at that year’s „Storm Crusher Festival“ in Germany, playing alongside acts like ULI JON ROTH, DEMON and BULLDOZER.
KÜENRING entered the studio again in February 2020 to record their sophomore album "Neon Nights" which was eventually released in April 2021.
Michael Sulzbachner left the band in June 2021. Now a three-piece, they released their third album "In Search of Paradise" in 2025. Read more on Last.fm.
