Johnny Deluxe is a Danish music band formed in 2000 in London by Noam Halby (lead vocals), Jakob S. Glæsner (bass) and Søren Itenov (guitar). Drummer Morten Lynggaard joined the group in 2002.
In 2003, the band participated in KarriereKanonen, a talent competition organized by Danish radio station P3. In November of that year, they released the EP "Elskovspony". In January 2004, Johnny Deluxe signed with Copenhagen Records and released their self-titled debut album, "Johnny Deluxe", on 24 May 2004. The album was certified double platinum in Denmark, with sales exceeding 60,000 copies. In November 2004, the group received the award for Best Danish Debut at the Zulu Awards.
In 2005, the band performed more than 100 concerts, including appearances on the Grøn Koncert tour. In October 2005, they released their second studio album, "LUXUS", which was certified platinum in Denmark with sales of more than 40,000 copies.
The third studio album, "De knuste hjerters klub", was released in 2008. In 2009, Johnny Deluxe participated in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
In early 2010, Morten Lynggaard and Søren Itenov left the band. The remaining members signed with the label Black Pelican and released a greatest hits album in August 2010, featuring eight previously released songs and two new tracks. The first single from the compilation, "Flex", was released on 14 June 2010.
On 27 January 2012, the band announced their disbandment. In spring 2015, Johnny Deluxe reunited and toured Danish festivals and clubs during the summer of that year. Read more on Last.fm.
