The band spawned in year 2000, in the city of Częstochowa, Poland. Soon after the collapse of the band named "Blazing" and a few changes in the team line-up, the artists have decided to play under a brand new name "Zaar". Their first demo EP entitled "In Vivo" was recorded by: - Marcin Strojec - solo guitar - Kuba - drums - Michał - bass, violin - Rafał - lead & acoustic guitar, vocals The group has bloomed while in search of interesting new sounds. In time occurred an expansion of the instrumentalists. Temporarily Seweryn replaced Michał on bass guitar, whereas later on Jacek "Lefty" became the new bass player. There was also: Marek "Marcelus" on trumpets as well as percussion, and Paweł "Dyzio" on percussion, too. The new music inherited some ethnic elements and the sound gathered a whole new range of character. In the meantime solo guitarist Marcin has been replaced by "Zając" a guitarist for the band "Rejs". In 2002 the band entered the studio for the second time to record a demo EP "Daleko od Słońca" (Far from the Sun). The recorded songs became solids for the following concerts and festivals. Zaar played many concerts with other well-known bands such as: Closterkeller, Armia, Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, Golden Life and Mordor. They also performed at "Juwenalia" - a Students Festival, supporting the campaign against violence at Killer Pub in Częstochowa, where they played alongside with other bands including: Alive, Churchill, Crowd and Sweet Fucking Silence. Zaar won the Student Artists Festival called "Fama 2000 in Częstochowa", and later on went to Świnoujście for the National Finals where it got a favoritism award. Zaar ceased to exist in year 2005. Read more on Last.fm.
