Instant Cold Fusion was formed in 2009 by guitarist Jeremy Snow, drummer Jackson Richardson, and bassist Brandon "Bubba" Hale in Phoenix, AZ. For a time they played only instrumental pieces for friends in various garages but in the summer of 2010 vocalist Austin Shaw joined the band. The band began gigging regularly in the latter half of the year. In September of 2010 Bubba left the band and was replaced by Sean Owens for a few months till he too left the band to pursue other opportunities. In January 2011, Austin, Jackson, and Jeremy recorded their first 5 song demo.
