The story of Hymn of the Fallen starts back at 2005 where Alkeos and Dimitris and Antonis(dimitris brother) formed a band called the Passange.Many second guitarists pasted by then but no one fitted their standards.Then after a year at 2006 the band was renamed to Sick Purity .With that came the need to experiment more with the music.Then was then Alkaios and Dimitris composed songs like Hymn Of the Fallen and Irony Of A Tragedy.Finally at 2007 the band was renamed to its current name Hymn Of The Fallen.Along came Kostas the current drummer who really saved the band because without any drums Alkeos and Dimitris where getting desperate.On September of 2007 Kleantis joined the band,It was a turning point for the band because it now had decent full setup of musicians.On October the first rehearsals were made and with that came songs like Freedom Fighter and The Conflict Inside.Ash was a "last minute" song that was made just to fill in 5 songs in the demo that was recorded in November.January of 2008 the band made its first live with their friends Lost For Words at the Mikie's Irish Pub.On April HOTF needed to extend their musical horizons and felt the need of a second guitarist.Then was when Orestis joined the band.
