Harnes Kretzer is from Germany and he makes experimental neo classical and ambient music.
There are many influences here, most notably Peter Broderick, Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and Goldmund as well as less obvious ones like the prepared piano pieces by Hauschka.
Harnes has loads of music up on Soundcloud and Bandcamp. There are a couple of tracks from Bandcamp below that serve to illustrate his work. Refugium is as much church music as it is ambient alternative, neither wholly Brian Eno or Arvo Part. Ephemeral is a straight piano piece that is equal parts Goldmund and Hauschka.
What’s for certain is that Harnes is not scared to try new things and that he has a great talent. Like Peter Broderick, our only criticism is that he records so much it might be hard to keep up.
If you are not too sure about the whole ambient/neoclassical scene or have some strange notion that it’s somehow related to Richard Clayderman, listen to Ephemeral and Hymn on Sunday morning. You’ll be converted. Guaranteed. Read more on Last.fm.
