Benefiting from Sonic Youth's groundwork and Detroit's recent musical history, Hairshirt move beyond the basement of free-form noise and the crunch of the garage into an area of catchy, intensely beautiful songs that maintain a certain 80's post-punk edge." Hairshirt was formed in 2002 by Amir Husak (vocals, guitar) and Jeremy Stork (drums). They disbanded in 2006. The band released a 5-track EP on Contraphonic Records and a split 7" with Ten Words for Snow on Boyarm Records. They also contributed songs to a few compilations, including "Xmas in Mesopotamia" for Suburban Sprawl Music's Christmas sampler. Read more on Last.fm.
