Triggered by the influx of commercial black metal, Gouda Borgir was formed in early 2008 as a humouristic approach to cheesy (literally) black metal. The two artists Grevé Smørrebrød and Lord Smörgaahls have created a black metal project that casts a satiric note on the genre.
